In this project I was responsible for recreating the design and documentation of a unique, prewar Varsovian bus called Somua Six. The bus came alive thanks to cooperation between MZA Warsaw and ABcar Oldtimers. The base for the recreation was an original Parisian Renault TN6, which had the exact same chassis as the original Somua Six. The rear passenger section was adopted from Renault and restored. The front cabin however was designed from ground up to look exactly like the original. The entire project, documentation and renderings were prepared thanks to the Renault TN6 chassis and a single existing photograph of the Somua Six from the Parisian expo. You can see and even take ride in the bus during events in Warsaw during the summer. During this project I was responsible for:
- creating a complete 3D model of the Somua Six bus from a single photograph with the Renault TN6 chassis as the base
- creating the production documentation
- designing the entire front cabin including the frame, doors, hood, bodywork panels and the details
- side bodywork panels documentation
- creating photo realistic renderings
